The body of a mechanic employed at Mhondoro Ngezi mine by Atlas Copco has been found in a dam along the Ruzawe river.
Prosper Takudzwa Musegedi’s tortured body was found yesterday and police have said they have never witnessed the level of cruelty inflicted on his body. A spokesperson reporting for the family told ZimEye on Thursday morning, the badly mutilated body’s condition was to the extent that his eyes were gouged out while the rest of his body had other deadly bruises.
The 34 year old father of two girls, had been missing since the 10th October 2013.

The family are in serious shock and they are appealing to the members of the public to assist in capturing the people who tortured and killed Prosper.
“We are appealing for information that can lead to the arrest of the people who killed Prosper.”
“Prosper’s body was found on the 13th of November 2013 dumped in a dam in Ruzawe, Marondera.”
“The body was heavily tortured and his eyes had been gouged out. His hands were tied together with a wire. The CID investigating the case said they have never seen such cruelty.

How it all happened
Another family spokesman added that days after he went missing, his salary for the month of October was still not withdrawn from his bank account and there was no activity on his Facebook page.
“Prosper left his family home in Chitungwiza on the 10th of October around 1530hrs. On his way out he said he was going to the local shops and never returned home,” the spokesman said.
“The following morning he phoned his wife saying he was on his way home but did not say where he was although the wife says the background noise sounded like a busy kombi/bus rank.
“That was the last phone call Prosper made to his wife. Since then his phone has been off and we also noticed that his Facebook profile had been taken down.
“We have reported the case to the police but nothing has come up yet and we are appealing to members of the public for help.
The family were forced to engage private investigators to try and track him down. His wife is extremely anguished and his daughters cry all the time asking for their dad.
Anyone with information is asked to please get in touch with Peter Magugu on 00263772107081 or on 00263772182602, email [email protected], or contact the nearest police station.”

  1. “He could fight Richie Incognito. He could go and tell on the players, which we know in the football locker room doesn’t go over too well. Or he could remove himself from the situation and let the proper channels take care of itself. And I think he made the intelligent, smart choice without putting himself or Richie Incognito’s physical abilities in danger.”

  2. Editor …why can’t this Shona ,MDC ZANUPF hater be barred from the website. Are you trying to demonstrate editorial freedom…..umm

  3. The family of this man must know the truth. If he was not into politics then 2 things might point to his death. Its either he was having an affair with a married woman or an unmarried woman who had another boy friend or some deal involving money did not go well

  4. did you even consider how the wife felt about him sleeping out? What if he had a tendency of going away and coming back the following day until someone thought I’ve heard enough? what if he was seeing someone ‘s wife and the husband caught him and thought let me teach him a lesson? food for thought.

  7. I still do not buy this story, the police in conjunction with the cell provider must be able to trace, calls made and in which vicinity. Question those individuals called at the time of his disappearance. If they can not do that, then it is a CIO job.

  8. Facebook profile being taken down indicate the works of CIO. They were trying to starve off hot pursuit by CID and family members. The perpetrators may have pounced on the unsuspecting man and hijacked him when he left his house to go to the shops. The telephone call he made to his wife may have been made under duress to prevent the wife from reporting a missing person to the police.

  10. The police should have been able to trace his last whereabouts, when he called his wife. The nearest cellphone tower should give more information, even if he used a public phone. Why is it an impossible task for the police to track his last whereabouts.

  11. Bla Miki
When will you get over your obsession with Ndebele people?
Who is Ndebele here? You are a donkey, that is why you eat, drink, sleep, see and hear Ndebele everywhere. Even in your sleep you see a Ndebele.
Mthwakazi is made up of many language groups and not all of them are Ndebele. Sitswana is not Ndebele, Venda is not Ndebele, Sotho is not Ndebele.
    Grow up stupid lucifer!
But we hate you dogs. Go hang!

  14. Life is a precious gift from God. No one has the right to take it under whatsoever circumstances. I pray that we find comfort from the Lords promise of eternal life..I cherish the days we grew up together Prosper and I never knew that one day you would vanish in such a cruel manner RIP my dear brother.

  15. 33years down the line you havent given up on your gukurahundi culture. Gouging people’s eyes because you believe they are dissidents eyes.
    I hate youuuuu!

  16. The issue needs more information from the friends and relatives on how the man lived his life especially in the last days, the law should take its course I request the CID to be professional and believe in them they can deal with this issue if the public volunteer to supply the key information. Their acknowledgement of the shock of this murder gives me hope that one man or woman in the system could want to deliver the wreath of the law to these murderers. Rest in Anger if you were killed without sin for your blood will haunt them until they submit themselves to justice.

  17. rest in peace man. Ko iye ambodedza mandevere padare raana mukwati vari kuchema hama ndiyaniko. Uyo hater ngatibvire kumhepo mhani! Kutinhuwidza weti

  19. That kind of torture is CIO work ,and Ruzawi is known for dumping polictical victims , Facebook page being e center of his disappearance , did he have any politicaly related posts or things he shared on groups. Bcz really cio is pouncing on pple on facebook specialy if ur profile has enuf information to hunt u down. RIP

  20. RIP Takudzwa my brother. I wouldn’t want to imagine the pain you went through! Its so emotion & horrific!

  22. Painful indeed! some people are evil, how can normal people do this?Anyway, this reminds me what we saw in the 1980’s when our mothers and sisters were killed in this way.

  23. I know it pains especially when a close relative has passed on, but I dont think it sounds good to associate every murder to politics. The best way is engage public as well as private investigators. Im sure the culprits are going to be apprehended and face the full wrath of the law. RIP friend.

  24. May his soul rest in peace. @ Mavambo Kusile Dawn… Thanks man for the good advice. I hope ppl wll lean to do that bcz it helps a lot.

  25. Very sad reading again. May his soul R.I.P.
@Chegotsi on Thu, 14th Nov 2013 11:49 am raised some very pertinent issues, going by the report.
My advice to all married people: Please always let your partner know whereever you are, especially if it’s not the place you are naturally expected to be. It helps big time. With a text or WhatApp message just learn to send short messages like: “Now in Gweru, likely home by 3pm… drinking with friends, expect me around 9pm….went to Bindura on emergency, accompanying a friend, back today around 6pm…long day at work, finishing around 8:30pm”. This helpd your partner to find out if you are still out when expected. LET’S LOVE EACH OTHER THRU COMMUNICATION.
How could he phone his wife and not tell her where he was, given it was a public place? Or was he kidnapped? I really feel sorry for the daughters!
Lastly, to you murderers – stop wasting life like that. What does it give you?

  26. May his soul rest in eternal peace and perpetraitors see the light of justice how on earth could people be this cruel

  27. Why kill my friend like that. You died a cruel manner my Takudzwa. We shall witness justice one day when these murderers are captured

  28. rest in peace may the LORD let your murderers b knwn….to the family take t easy n knw ts GODS way mayb dats hw his lyf was meant to end…tek comfort in da lord n let prayers b your sympathizer

  29. i cnt believe this we miss u already my beloved brother-in-law may ur soul rest in peace ….

  30. The fish may have contributed esp on the eyes. From the trail of events, this sounds like a deal that went sour. Wht do they mine at that mine? Gold, ngoda? If its coal, then there is no need to suspect a deal that went wrong. He foned b4 disappering after a night out. Where was he? If he was seeing smeones’ wife, then that might explain the torture. It it was b4 or just after elections then we could look at that angle as well, politics. But October, no the tempers have cooled and the defeated are just making cyber noise.

  31. May his soul rest in peace and the perpetrators of this atrocity, may they be brought to book and thereafter rot in hell!
