BREAKING NEWS: Tsvangirai Rebel Councilors Expelled

(Mutare)Four rebel councilors who rebelled against a Tsvangirai directive and ‘nikuved’ their own party by secretly electing a ZANU PF deputy councilor, have been expelled.
They will no longer be councilors with immediate effect.
MDC-T Manicaland spokesman Pishai Muchauraya confirmed to ZimEye Wednesday afternoon that the notorious team are now on the streets, jobless having served barely 24 hours of service.mdc_emergency_meetingMutare
The four rebel councilors are Richard Mupfura ward 16, Tatenda Nhambarare ward 8, Farai Bhiza ward 11 and Pamella Mutare ward 2.
“The provincial executive has expelled the four from MDC with immediate effect.
“We are now in the process doing the papers to ZEC so that they cause by-elections in those wards,” said Muchauraya.

Charles do u mean that the law stipulates that the MDC T will have to write to the speaker of the parliament or president of the senate that they have fired some concillors i dont think so it aplies to MPs and Senators only. If the MDC T are not carefully they risk being humiliated by Chombo again coz i can foresee a situation whereby these concillors cud be fired and replaced as concillors yes,but that Tatenda Nhamarare who was recently sworn in as Mutare Mayor will continue with his mayorship.Simba rebato rinoperera pakumubvisa huconcillor chete not huMayor u are now steping at Chombos’ territory beware you will have eggs on yo face at the end of the day.
    Do u mean if Mugabe luz as the president of the party pacongress Zimbabwe will go to polls to choose another president before his 5 year term remember nyaya yaMtambara na Ncube whereby the former went on to enjoy hu Deputy Prime minister despite losing at their congress.This is Zimbabwe MDC T as at now should have been aware of the kind of people whom they are dealing with,wake up think outside the box kwete kungotenderera mubox.Unless the law clearly states without any ambiguity nokuti inZanu PF we have wat we can call full fledged experienced and intelligence politicians who can get wat they need yet in MDC T we have armatures who if the going gets turf they can resort to ‘boycot’ and ‘withdraw’ which is not a solution at all.

  5. ZANU PF, there is no need to celebrate because God anointed Mugabe not ZANU PF. Now he has anointed another one, Morgan Tsvangirai. When God annoint someone no need for elections. If he had given him power then, somepeople were going to cause trouble thereby making people suffer. The life of ZANU PF is within 60 days from the first date of the 8th parly seating.
    15-10-13 is the date this party will start to die and it will be faster than a man counting from one to ten. In December they will be no ZANU PF. Some people will be shocked to learn that how few are ZANUs, that is when the world will learn how ZANU was stealing elections.

  7. What of those at Victoria Falls? These pseudo poor opportunists who lie to the electorate claiming that they are for certain principles yet truly they are looking for money must be expelled from whatever party. They are free to join Zanupf. Even if the MDC-T looses its okay than to tolerate people who do not follow their party policies. I would say the same even if they were Zanupf. We want people who will account for what they say during their campaign not opportunists or people without principles. Just chancers!

  8. For the record, this is what the constitution says about removal of councillors from office.
    278 Tenure of seats of members of local authorities
    (1) The seat of a mayor, chairperson or councillor of a local authority becomes vacant in the circumstances set out in section 129, as if he or she were a Member of Parliament, any reference to the Speaker or President of the Senate in section 129(1)(k) being construed as a reference to the Minister responsible for local government.
    Nw section 192(1) (k) says:
    (k) if the Member has ceased to belong to the political party of which he or she was a member when elected to Parliament and the political party concerned, by written notice to the Speaker or the President of the Senate, as the case may be, has declared that the Member has ceased to belong to it;
    I wish these councillors knew what they were doing because they were tempted believing in the old constitution where the Minister responsible for local govt had the sole powers to remove councillors from office. Sellouts have no rest on earth and in heaven unless they repent.

Thats not where the problem lies. If the recent by-elections are anything to go by, the MDC-T is likely to lose the four seats to ZANU-PF.

Prior to that Roy had actually bribed back into the party the likes of Biti, again from Ncube’s party. So, there is nothing new; the guys are used to being bribed. Its a very very stupid decision they have made. MT is creating news to diffuse the call for his own resignation being advocated for.

  34. The good part with MDC T in particular Morgan he has zero tolerance to corruption and unorthodox moves. Morgan on Misimirambwa could have dismissed him than warning him at a dinner.

This is a very good move by MDC.Anyone who does not want to obey party rules whether be it Zanu-PF or MDC deserves to be expelt.They have shown that they were in MDC for personal reasons not to serve the people.If you hold memebership to a particular organisation you need to obey the rules, if you do not, it is better you do not pretend to be a member of that organisation.They must be embarrassed of themselves.If Tsvangirai is becoming a dictator there are internal structures that are used to air these complaints rather than behave in a very retrogressive manner whose overall outcome is to weaken the party and make it a laughing stock to its enemies.
