BULAWAYO FIRES: Mawarire #ThisFlag Activists Denied Justice

Staff Reporter | The trial of the 85 activists arrested in July after the first #ShutDown led by now exiled Pastor Mawarire has failed to take of again. The Bulawayo based Abammeli Human Rights Lawyers, made the following report;
The trial failed to start because the state said it was not ready and is still waiting for an order from the prosecutor general to tell them how to proceed. Defense argued that the state should proceed by way of summons when they were ready, as some of the accused were unemployed and some were from as far as Nkayi and Gwanda and they did not have the finances to come to court again and again without any progress in the case.The case continues on the 2nd of September(Friday) to allow the state to respond.
