Chikwanha Propped New NMBZ Board Chairman

NMBZ has sftly moved to appoint prominent banker Benedict Chikwanha to the chairperson of the group position.
The post will cover its flagship arm, NMB Bank, with effect from Thursday last week, March 19.
A company statement read that Chikwanha is taking over.
“Chikwanha was appointed as non-executive director of NMB Bank Limited and NMBZ Holdings Limited on 31 January 2014.Chikwanha is an experienced banker, with over 40 years’ working experience in the banking sector in various areas including risk management, corporate banking and corporate finance,” the company report officially stated.
The new boss has been executive director of the Leonard Cheshire Disability Zimbabwe Trust.
He takes over from Tendayi Mundawarara who stepped down from the NMB boards on March 18.
He had served the company for seven years.
Mundawarara joined the NMB Bank Limited and NMBZ Holdings Limited boards as a non-executive director on 11 February 2008 and was appointed as chairman in 2010.
During his tenure, Mundawarara oversaw the recapitalisation of the group through a private placement to three strategic institutional investors and the bank acquiring various lines of credit.
