platinum fc platinumKwesesports – FC Platinum are back at the summit of the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League after beating Chicken Inn 1-0 at White City Stadium in a postponed fixture.
The Zvishavane side moved to 33 points with the win, three clear of second- placed Highlanders.
The match got off to a cagey start, with neither team making serious attempts on goal, but two minutes before the break Winston Mhango’s effort broke the deadlock after Walter Musona made a cut through pass.
Moments into the second half, the champions thought they got a penalty after the assistant referee signalled for a handball, but the referee thought otherwise.
The Gamecocks were also reduced to ten men after Thabani Goredema was sent off for a second bookable offence.
Despite playing with only 10 players, the Chicken Inn made a series of attacks, but FC Platinum kept a clean sheet and picked up the three points.
Meanwhile, Highlanders will also play their game in hand against Triangle United on Wednesday.
