Granny, Two Toddlers Killed at Grace Death Rally
By Tinoonga Mawere -Gutu| An elderly woman and two toddlers were killed during a stampede at First Lady Grace Mugabe’s rally at Mushayavanhu High School last Friday 4th December in an incident that was quickly swept under the carpet and the Police ordered not to report anything.
Eyewitnesses here reveal that the three were crushed to death as people scrambled for the donations of death that left three others critically injured. In a state of desperation as a result of food shortages thousands of people crammed the haulage trucks to get maize meal and cooking oil among other donations.
Although police in Gutu said there were no such deaths, villagers present reveal that they were warned against taking photographs by state security agents. “An old woman and two toddlers were trampled to death during the stampede as people jostled for the food items brought by the First Lady. Three people were also rushed to Gutu Mission Hospital for treatment after being injured during the stampede.It was really tight and noone was allowed to take photographs and it was a horrific situation .We were strongly warned against divulging the details. I saw people being crushed,” said an eyewitness.
Another eyewitness told ZimEye.com, “three people died while trying to get free fertilizer on the 4th December.”

This bring the total number of reported deaths due to Grace’s rallies to (6) six. People have been killed during Mrs Mugabe’s death rallies across the country with reports that the death toll could be higher than the figures released so far.

As a result of socio- economic hardships and hunger, people have been forced to scramble for the food items brought by the First Lady.
Surprisingly Grace took a swipe at NGOs during the rally accusing the organisations of sponsoring the regime change agenda.
There are reports that Mrs Mugabe only plays a middle role in facilitating the purchasing of the products mainly from China.
It has also been reported that thousands throng Mrs Mugabe’s rallies only for the purpose of receiving the freebies, an indication of desperate measures by the poor people.
