I refuse to throw a stone at Gays- Tsvangirai

(Harare)Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai has stood to put to finality controversies flashed against him concerning the matter of gay rights following a BBC video interview in which he says he was misinterpreted.
In a conclusion to his press address Wednesday, Tsvangirai argued that while he differs with gay people, he will never mistreat them and quoted two Bible verses in his defense.
Below is the PM’s conclusion:
Finally, I want to put finality and closure to an issue that has been misinterpreted; the issue of the so-called gay rights. My beliefs on this issue are a matter of public record. My beliefs manifest themselves in my practice.
I am a Christian associated with the Methodist church. I am a father. I am a grandfather. I am a family man.
I am a Zimbabwean and I know the strong feelings of Zimbabweans about this issue. I have those strong feelings too but in the end, Zimbabweans are making their own Constitution and it is that Constitution which will bind every Zimbabwean.
What I refuse to do as a loyal son of God and as a social democrat is to persecute, to judge, to condemn and to vilify people for their own opinions because judgment is a preserve of God the Almighty.
The Book of Luke Chapter 6 verse 37: “Do not judge and you will not be judged, do not condemn and you will not be condemned.”
The Book of John Chapter 8 verse 7:  “If any one of you is without sin, let him be the first to thrown a stone…”
So while I may differ with them, as a Christian and as a social democrat, I refuse to throw a stone at them.
God bless you.
And God bless Zimbabwe.
I thank You

  1. your worship mr mp sir Its very dangerous to justify yrself wth the scriptures u qouted, homosexuality is a gravious sin not allowed even in the animal kingdom, so tell me if animals cant do it how is it posible for mankind to do it?

  2. Uri very stupid&u also a mad PM.hongu ndinoera mutupo mumwe newe bt wakutinyadzisa manje.ko kana uchisapota ma gay, saka wakadii kuroora Biti?

  3. SOMHLABA,MORGAN IS NOT A TEA BOY..HE IS A GARDEN BOY WHO OCCASIONALLY SHINES HIS WHITE MASTERS SHOES.

  4. WHAT A DANGEROUS MAN TO LEAD THE COUNTRY.YOU NEED TO BE YOURSELF AND STOP LISTENING TO WHITE PEOPLE BECAUSE YOU NOW LEADING A PEOPLE NOT A TEA BOY…YOU ARE A VERY DANGEROUS PERSON TO KEEP OUR NATIONAL INTERESTS.

  5. Like the honorable PM of the republic of Zimbabwe said there are far more crucial problems to be solved than what consenting adults do in the privacy of their dwellings.

  6. Gift, I have also seen four women happily married to one husband, some cultures even allow three men to be happily married to one woman. At least that is between men and women.. natural behavior even in the animal kingdom. But it’s not accepted in the so-called civilized West!! Typical double standards. They do not want their one man one woman culture to be tampered with so why are they hell-bent on exporting their filth?. If we decide to define our culture as anti-gay because we don’t accept it then so be it, it’s our right! If anyone is intolerant on this planet it is the west and you Gift (only in Zimbabwe do u find such a name) have been mentally colonized! Sorry maningi…

  7. im totally dissappointed wit you mr pm you have guaranteed yourself to loose a considerable no. of votes including me

  8. Really shocked by intolerance we display under the guise of culture, who are we to judge gay or not , i have seen happy gay couples

  9. Even Zanu PF does not persecute gays, we’ve got galz operating freely in Zim. But it’s frowned upon and strongly discouraged. What we are saying comrade prime minister is that we do not want this nonsense in our constitution! If u legalize it then u r encouraging it. And Never use the bible to justify yourself ion this because nowhere in the bible is homosexuality exonerated. Infact, God destroyed towns with fire because of sodomy! That verse which you quoted Mr. Prime Minister is dangerous because it defies everything our justice system seeks to achieve… does it mean we shouldn’t also judge murderers, paedofiles etc? With the bible, you don’t draw the line anywhere, sin is a sin is a sin!!!

  10. Mr Editor please give us a break we have heard enough of this ngochani, its no longer news, the man has come out in the open and we now know him for what he is.He does not deserve any further publicity about his homosexuality.

  11. aiwa kungomuisa mu jeri chete tsvangirayi wondosangana nevakomana varimo ndipo paachaziva kuti zvakaipa.anoi…swa kum..nyo..wa akaita benzi uyu

  12. NO NO NO NO TO WESTERN WAY OF LIFE(HOMOSEXUALITY) IN ZIMBABWE…NEVER NEVER NEVER!!!!!!

  13. Haiwawo! He supports the homosexuals. He said they have rights. He is going to let them run us down! All this is just effort to put out the fire that he started himself!
I would never ever want our Zimabwe to be a gay haven ever!

  14. This is real abuse of the Bible. Mr PM if I got it right you say you are to put a move for gay rights in the constitution, is that the ‘Judge not’ you are talking about. You will never quote the bible more than the devil did in Jesus’ great temptations, and still do in today’s great deceptions. Fools like you put their house on fire and turn to the bible to put it off. I will not throw a stone at you and gays but will shake dust off my shoes. Better listen to those who point the log in your eye than to remain bind while looking for the stick in theirs. Don’t just read the bible, study with the spirit of God not spirit of Defense – FOOL.

  15. Mr Editor, surely this is the worst type of journalism. We need the full text of this gay’s speech for us to provide a better comentary.
