Former MP Chebundo Behind Bars

Police have arrested five people, on charges of public violence, which occurred on Saturday in Kwekwe during the #Beatthepot campaign.
ZimEye.com spoke to their lawyer Reginald Chidawanyika who confirmed the arrests.
Kwekwe police intensified the hunt the for the Movement for Democratic Change members following successful Saturday demonstrations, in which they failed to stop hundreds of women from marching in protest against hunger and state tyranny. The women had running battles with the police as they beat their pots.
The five who are spending the night in the cells handed themselves over to the police earlier Tuesday, they include, former MDC T MP for Kwekwe Central Blessing Chebundo, former MDC T Kwekwe Mayor Shadreck Tobaiwa, MDC T Midlands North Vice chair Tendai Kokera. Others are Provincial Secretary for Organizing Moses Mashizha and Youth Provincial chair Sekai Marashe.
They handed themselves to the Kwekwe District Head Quaters Law and Order section accompanied by their lawyer Chidawanyika this afternoon. Police have been looking for them since Saturday.
Still in Kwekwe yesterday 3 provincial officials Aaron Panganayi Sithole Kwekwe Deputy Mayor  and councilor Weston Masiya including a youth were given $200 bail after spending 2 days in police custody.
Kwekwe police claim they have more than a hundred on their list to arrest because of this Demonstration.
