#ThisFlag pastor, Evan Mawarire promises that he will not transform himself into a politician.
The clergyman told the South Africa based CNBC he has no intention whatsoever to join politics.
“I think that we are already in politics. I am not going to become a politician,” he said.
He continued, “I’ve got to remain a citizen because this is where our power is.”
When asked by the channel’s Trust Matsilele: so what is going to happen to all these masses who are rallying behind you if they don’t have a face to express what they stand for?, Mawarire was unrelenting. He said:

“I think that no matter where the masses go in terms of their political movement choice, this flag is always a rallying point for them to come back to or to still be a part of, that is the beauty of it, that’s why it has to remain apolitical so that it can continue to speak for the citizen no matter which politician or which government comes into play,” he said.
