Mnangagwa, Mutsvangwa And Charamba Face Mugabe Boot

The future of Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa, War Veterans minister Chris Mutsvangwa and Presidential spokesperson George Charamba is hanging in the balance following the endorsement by President Robert Mugabe on Wednesday of the G-40 project, ZimEye.com reveals.
Mutsvangwa and Charamba who belong to Team Lacoste are campaigning for Vice President Mnangagwa to succeed President Robert Mugabe and had planned to block Higher and Tertiary Education minister Professor Jonathan Moyo who leads G-40 from attending the party’s heated Politburo meeting.
G-40 which comprises Moyo, Indigenisation minister Patrick Zhuwao and Local government minister Saviour Kasukuwere wants Grace Mugabe to be the next President.
But the G-40 on Wednesday successfully mobilised party youths and women from different provinces who humiliated Team Lacoste and managed to convince Mugabe.
The pro-Grace zanu pf pol faction got an endorsement from Mugabe when he was addressing the hired crowd.
Team Lacoste was first roasted by Hurungwe East legislator Sarah Mahoka ( G-40)  before President Mugabe endorsed the faction.
Mahoka in her speech lambasted Vice President Mnangagwa and Charamba who she accused of plotting to topple Mugabe.
“We must toe the party line .The party line is to be strong and united. We heard what Mahoka said. She talked about a lot of things mixing things but we heard her,” Mugabe nailed Mnangagwa.
The aging leader said team Lacoste was going to be investigated.
“Provincial Committees will deal with those that have stopped others from coming,” Mugabe said amid reports that Team Lacoste had blocked people from some provinces who were invited by the G-40 to come “congratulate” him for successfully completing his term as the AU chair.

  3. The idea is to keep Mugabe in power for as long as possible while the Lacoste team is getting old and worn out. By the time Mugabe dies at around 100 years Lacoste and company will be also very old with no real power in ZANU-PF so G40 will be in charge. It’s a waiting game.

  5. Zanu PF is imploding, President Mugabe is not fooling anyone by saying he does not want factionalism when he is the one aiding and abetting G40 faction which did not exist until he created it in 2014 to replace the Mujuru faction he booted out!
    Mnangagwa will be very naive if he ever thought President Mugabe wanted peace and unity in the party. All President Mugabe has ever cared about and dreamt of is absolute power and he has stopped at nothing to get it!
    By igniting the dog-eat-dog fighting in Zanu PF by his unwarranted booting out of Mujuru President Mugabe has started a fight that he cannot stop. And not the fire he started is going to consume him too!
