Mugabe Death, President’s Announcement| Letter by Kaitano

Dear Editor,
President Robert Mugabe, the world’s oldest head of state, made a statement in January this year which left many people worrying. He said he is to rule Zimbabwe until God says come.
Just recently, we were told by non-other than the Secretary to the Cabinet, Dr. Charles Utete, that our old president’s faculties are all functioning well and that he has a sharp memory and knows everything that he does and says. If we are to trust Dr. Utete’s description of our dear president, then our old dear president should be fully aware that the constitution of Zimbabwe has a term limit, and that the longest he can be in office going by the constitution is 2023.
So there are three things here: it’s either our dear president wants to violate the constitution and remain in power after his second term as president in 2023, assuming he wins the 2018 elections; he wishes himself dead by 2013; or he is certain he will not last beyond the 2023 elections.
Food for thought.
God help Zimbabwe

  1. Diamond, what name is that anyway! you claim to be more informed than Utete but you actually expose your ignorance, being on annual leave has no connection with issuing of statements. and one doesn’t need to be in the office to issue one. so being on annual leave has no connection to the issuing of statements bro, I think you need to do logic classes before you write anything in opposition and claiming to be enlightened.

  3. Retirement age for Civil servants is 65 years. most of our Parents are in villages still sound, sane and able bodied. The president surpassed that age long ago, why is it so difficult for him to let go? its not just an issue of violating the constitution but its a human right issue too. How do you keep abusing your grandfather to keep working 27 years after his retirement age. who does that. Then all our grand parents, parents and relatives bellow 100 should be employed by the government in that case. it is a shame. now because of fear all the people in ZANU PF keep endorsing grand pa for this position, it is not charitable its cruelty at the highest level. It is my prayer that the Lord takes the soul of this man for the sake of Zimbabwe and the younger generations.

  5. Charles Utete? Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet???? Revise your articles before publishing. In January Mugabe was on his annual leave….he did not issue any statement. Your story is an indication that you dont know what you are doing ….go back to school.
