By Shamiso Joylene Mtandwa| President Robert Mugabe has all but quit the State House in Harare as details emerge that he is now preferring to spend most of his time at his exquisite rural Kutama home in Zvimba.
Very reliable sources within the Presidential Guard in Kutama told ZimEye.com that in the last few months the President is spending almost half of his time at his rural home under a twenty four hour watch by doctors and other specialist medical aides.
Mugabe who on road travels in a hearse shaped vehicle (pictured above), is reported to be making the ten minute trip via a helicopter to the State House in nearby Harare only when he has official duties to perform.
Sources at the State House in Harare also claim that he does not appear at his offices for more than thirty minutes whenever needed.
The sources claim that he comes to the office in the company of a strong medical team where he only performs the one task he will have been asked to come for and flies back home.
Mugabe surprised many on National Defence Forces day when he made perhaps his shortest public address and appearance while delivering an address which took less than 15 minutes before speeding out of the venue shortly after the address.
Mugabe’s health is reportedly declining of late amidst rumours that his doctors inject him with heavy drugs and medication that help the “bed ridden” President to appear for no more than three hours in public before being whisked away back to bed at home.
