In Mugabe’s place… Foreign Minister Simbarashe Mumbengegwi

President Robert Mugabe yesterday failed to attend the Southern Africa Development Community (Sadc) double troika extraordinary summit in Botswana.
The current explanation for the absence by government is that he is still on his annual holiday in the Far East.
Attending in Mugabe’s place is Foreign Affairs minister Simbarashe Mumbengegwi who is to present among Heads of State and Government from Botswana, Mozambique, South Africa, Swaziland and Tanzania to discuss the deepening political crisis in Lesotho and other regional hotspots.
