A viral rumour claiming that former Vice President Joice Mujuru has been exposed in a sex tape that has leaked hit social networks on Wednesday.
The development led to wild claims that former ZimPF spokesperson Rugare Gumbo has been having an affair with Mrs Mujuru. Others laid alternative allegations that Mujuru has been secretly dating her aide, Sylvester Nguni and the latter is the man she is seen in the footage.
This reporter has carried out a snap investigation on the development.
The report read in part, A senior member of the ever-ruling ZANU-PF party is said to have uttered claims that they are “allowing the former Vice President, Joice Mujuru, to cover as much political ground as she can before they destroy her permanently—political that is—by releasing a video footage of the widow of the late general Solomon Mujuru—purportedly in a compromising situation with one former government minister who is now a member of her Zimbabwe People First (ZimPF) movement.
“We are not at all worried about her… we are just giving her a long rope, when the time comes, we will put her in the right position,” the official said. “The system keeps huge files on almost everyone who matter in this country… and in most of these files are sex tapes—especially of those that have once stayed in state properties or that have had state security,” the official was said to have vocalised stating.
The report circulated on the Zimbabwe Patriots Facebook page continued quoting the unnamed official saying, “these are some of the things that come handy when one decides to betray the party and its leadership like what Mujuru and others have done….We have a lot of things on almost everyone—both living and the dead—and that is the reason why many of those that were either suspended or fired from the party are reluctant to readily cross over to the opposition… they know that the party cannot allow them to walk away just like that.”#
No other Mujuru secret tape
ZimEye.com which first singularly revealed the Mujuru secret tape fiasco in 2014, can reveal there is no other Mujuru sex tape matter other than that mentioned by First Lady Grace Mugabe in 2014.
This reporter yesterday checked with State House files and found no other charges against Mrs Mujuru of a moral (bedroom) nature other than the above.
Serving CIO officers also added commentary on the matter. “This internet article is the figment of a content creator’s imagination”, a State House source in Harare said late yesterday.
While Presidential spokesperson, George Charamba’s phone rang without being answered, a family source close to Mrs Grace Mugabe widely known for her bitter attacks on Mujuru also expressed shock at the charges.
“Zvinyiko izvozvi zvauri kuvhunza,” the source who is female said.
She continued, “Please keep me out of your nonsense. I may not agree with Runaida but this is utter hogwash,” she added.
It also turned out no media house paid attention to the rumour.
In November 2014 ZimEye revealed that the Mugabes have secret tapes of a voice said to be of Joice Mujuru insulting Robert Mugabe, the President’s wife, Grace, spoke of Vice President Joice Mujuru saying that she trapped Mujuru when she was in her bedroom having her private intimate time with her husband wearing a mini skirt.
Grace said she recorded Mujuru speaking ill of the First Couple.
Speaking of Mujuru at her Mazowe farm, Grace said of Mujuru,
“Why did she inherit things that were not properly acquired,” she said while also calling her a demon.
The demons must return to Dotito – “Mademon ngaadzokere kuDotito, we exorcise those demons in the name of Jesus,” she said,.
“I trapped Mujuru and I now have recording of her in a mini-skirt, speaking ill of me and the president. We are tired of this stupidity, ngaaende izvozvi, she said.”
