By Prof Masiyiwa Snr| Joice Mujuru has been caught smelling of both crocs and cocks and that stench has not left her despite her savoury association with democratic forces. READ ON…

"innocent"? ... Joice Mujuru
“smelling of croc and cock…Joice Mujuru” … Joice Mujuru

Her former boss Robert Mugabe joined politics in 1960 under NDP. 55 solid years living with Mugabe and aiding him in his desire to stay glued to the throne until kingdom come, a certain group of people have come out guns blazing as opposition demanding space “immediately or we will give Mugabe legitimacy in 2018”.
They have, infact denied association with Mugabe and his party’s system in all the bad deeds, but however accepted association with him in good deeds.
If anything, Didymus Mutasa, Jabulani Sibanda, Kudakwashe Bhasikiti, Rugare Gumbo and Joice Mujuru’s cases must be a reminder to anyone, including those still in ZanuPF, that political violence is bad and should never be tolerated.
During the just ended year, these ZanuPF leaders and a few supporters, some of who had become dormant and mute after the 2008 election horrors, began to raise their heads, happily parading their political allegiance to ZanuPF before their one man Vic Falls congress. Believing that time had erased the horrific images of their party’s conduct in 2008 and those of 2013, and after failing to get the required attention and positions in ZanuPF, some became too vocal, claiming to be opposition “democratic” figures fronting what they called People First Movement.
Others, who previously wore MDC colours and even claimed political protection in foreign lands on the basis of alleged persecution by ZanuPF, have begun coming out and making all sorts of noises in the Diaspora, telling MDC supporters and the nation at large to get over the 2008 violence and other evil deeds pepertuated by ZanuPF which they have been part of, saying that it’s all in the past and that people must just forget about it and move on. They, infact, demanded that the opposition rally behind them as they seek to democratise Zimbabwe, defining themselves as “tried and tested” leaders, who must exercise their abilities in opposition politics ahead of the MDC and other opposition political parties.
We have argued in response, that a country does not move on if it buries its head in the sand and pretends that such things as the Gukurahundi genocide and 2008 re-run massacres did not happen, because as sure as the sun rises every morning, state-backed violence would happen again and again.
Now, the chicken began eating its own eggs. The leopard started eating its own children, saying in justification, that they smell like goats. They painfully fell off and are now at the mercy of ZanuPF, seeking sympathy from opposition circles.
Should the opposition, formerly at the end of such treatment be celebrating? No. The natural instinct is to say, you deserve it. But all that ever does is perpetuate the cycle. It has to stop somewhere. We have to bring the former ZanuPF, or PF to the negotiating table, but definitely not on their conditons. The conditions have to be set by a “combined opposition” that encompass four MDC formations and other parties in the opposition. Definitely not on the so called PF’s conditions.

  1. Donald Trump must deal with Mujuru and all those Baskets (Baiskitis) and Jabulanis together with Mugabe and Museveni. It’s unfortunate he didn’t mention Emmerson Mnangagwa by name.
Someone refer Mnangagwa to Donald …!!!

  3. Well if she helps to remove Mugabe now that’s good. The rest can be dealt with later.

  5. well written, let her tell us all the evil that Zanu PF did while she was in bed with them otherwise she is a big liability

  6. Her grade right now is
not even a U+. She might have been popular within the Zanu beauty contests but
when it came to matters of State she did not achieve anything as minister and
as vice president. Neither did Zanu as a party. Except, to accumulate. She has
been on a roller coaster since independence and to fail in anything one has to
try to do something and she did not try anything at all. She has been a
passenger on this train of madness. Even as a comatose driver when the dear
leader was on his never ending trips abroad she couldn’t think for herself. She
has given a half-hearted apology for the chaos and madness the country has gone
through during the past 35 years. One sentence. Less than two years ago when
the honey was still flowing she declared, and I am paraphrasing, ‘Mugabe was
anointed by God and anyone who is thinking of taking power from him is mad.
Mugabe was send by God and so I would not think of taking over while he is
still alive’. She definitely has got to try harder.
Her apology has got to be a full page instead of a one liner. In it she could
include among other things who was organising the violence against unarmed
civilians. The fate of those who disappeared including the man in the current
news, Itai Dzamara. We know she had already been shown the door at the time of
his disappearance but Zanu has always had the same modus operandi. Some will
say, typical criminals! And the rigging of the elections? Surely she couldn’t
have been in coma as well? She has now declared she won’t take up her pensions
which she is entitled to as a former vice president and this has hoodwinked
some writers and commentators. They say, she has turned to a new page but I
want pages of explanation. How many farms has she got? Zanu constitution says,
‘one man one farm’. Overall, what are her assets and how much is she worth and
how did she accumulate it while she was busy running the affairs of the State?
And she is registered as seriously disabled since the end of the war, we are
told. After her husband’s mysterious death she was refused an independent
autopsy on his remains. She was the vice president. What hope for us mere
mortals? No doubt she can do better and should have done better.
The MDC say they are a big tent and will accommodate anyone willing to fight
for a just cause. There are few reasons to accommodate this toxic woman but
please don’t divulge family secrets until she is completely clean. There are
some who are wondering whether Tsvangirai, the so called dim wit, will accept
to play second fiddle to her. What’s wrong with us? Someone steps on your toes
and you are expected to apologise? What next? Ask Tsvangirai to apologise to
the nation on her behalf? MDC should keep her at arm’s length and never ever
hug her. She is covered all over with blood. Her own, from a bloody nose from
Zanu and the nation’s state executed and the disappeared. Besides, given her
record it won’t surprise anyone if she runs back to ‘mummy’, Mugabe, if she
feels she has been forgiven. The bottom line is she can’t run a tuck shop, let
alone a country like Zimbabwe. If this is our last hope, the whole nation needs
a thorough head examination. What price appeasement? Some clever clog actually
believes she can ‘provide answers’. God help us! Still, she got to
    try harder!
