Nigerian Explosive Journalist Forced Out of Work By ZANU PF

The brave Nigerian journalist who stood out to grill Robert Mugabe on his departure date, has been reportedly harassed out of work.
After a string of attacks from Mugabe’s ZANU PF party on the journo’s media house SaharaTV, Adeola Fayehun is now off the screens, a development which has seen the Jonathan Moyo controlled State Media writing in celebratory mode.

State Media Report| There is a feast of humble pie at Sahara Reporters, with the biggest portion reserved for Adeola Fayehun who has apologised to President Mugabe for her “awful” and “disrespectful” behaviour.
The behaviour in question relates to how she bypassed security and tried to heckle President Mugabe at the recent inauguration of Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja.
The local private media ran screaming headlines celebrating Fayehun’s antics even as sober minds pointed out how unprofessional it was.
Fayehun’s many critics also questioned the security arrangements that allowed a reporter from a media house senior Nigerian military officers have called a supporter of Boko Haram terror to get so close to a Head of State and Government and the African Union Chair.
Now her programme, “Keeping it Real” has been pulled off air and she is apologising profusely to President Mugabe.
In her “interview”, she shouted there was no democracy in Zimbabwe and that “President Mugabe” should step down, notwithstanding the fact that the AU and Sadc Chair resoundingly won a national election as recently as 2013.
President Mugabe maintained his dignity and ignored her.
And last Wednesday, Fayehun said: “I think you have heard of what happened between me and Mr Mugabe, an encounter that has led to the end of my career . . . I completely agree with you guys that asking (President) Mugabe when he would step down was awful, it was awful, it was disrespectful of me . . .
“Which is why this will be my very last episode of ‘Keeping it Real’. I figured it is better to end the show myself.
“It has been real and I have tried for at least three years to keep it real until what happened with (President) Mugabe and for the sake of peace so that there won’t be any more fights . . .”
In an earlier show on Sahara FM Radio titled “With the Humble Prince”, Fayehun said: “I wasn’t making fun saying he (President Mugabe) is too old. I really apologise for my comments.”
Efforts to get a comment from Fayehun were unsuccessful last night, and Sahara Reporters news editor Declan Galvin said: “We cannot provide you with her contact details, it is against our company policy. I cannot confirm on that (that her programme has been taken off air); you can go on her social media platform or website to see what is going on.”
Fayehun’s Facebook page was filled with posts questioning the move to terminate the show, while a web page on her programme had Fayehun confirming its end.
A fortnight ago, Media, Information and Broadcasting Services Minister Professor Jonathan Moyo likened her unprofessional conduct to Boko Haram, in reference to the terror group that has wreaked havoc in Nigeria and neighbouring countries for several years now.
On his Twitter account, the minister asked; “Of course those are human beings, but are they journalists or Boko Haram? How do you know those were journalists, especially since they did not behave as such?”
Tellingly, last December, the Nigerian Army accused Sharara Reporters of being a propaganda arm of Boko Haram.
The then Nigerian Army public relations director, Brigadier-General Olajide Laleye said: “It is noteworthy but sad and unfortunate that Sahara Reporters has committed itself to support for terrorism and fighting Nigeria, its people, its military and particularly the Nigerian Army.”
And in the aftermath of Fayehun’s disgraceful show at President Buhari’s inauguration, Zimbabwe’s private media went into overdrive, lionising behaviour that the reporter herself has admitted was “awful”and “disrespectful”.
NewZimbabwe.com said “Mugabe humiliated in Nigeria”, while NewsDay claimed “Mugabe suffers humiliation in Nigeria”.
Daily News, which like NewsDay is a rabid advocate of anything anti-President Mugabe to the point of publishing several notable inaccuracies to further its crusade, was not to be left out as the private media tried to claim the continent was turning against Zimbabwe’s leader.
However, the massive backlash in Nigeria and across Africa to Fayehun’s behaviour has given the lie to those claims.
The question that remains is: will the media houses that celebrated this “awful”and “disrespectful”behaviour take their places at the table and join Fayehun in eating humble pie?

  1. By we I don’t know what you mean because I for one never celebrated. Maybe you are referring to government to government sour relations of which I may not agree with my government at times. If you did you may tell us why you celebrated because if I remember very well the guy who threw a shoe was also a reporter of which he was expressing his personal anger which again override his professional values. Reporters when on duty they are not suppose to tell us or show us their affiliations because their reports lose credibility that’s all I am saying. Adeola at one time she openly expressed her support for the then President Goodluck Jonathan and campaigning for him again it is off the line.

  2. But we celebrated when that guy threw a shoe at George Bush and Herald and ZBC invited the Mahosos and the like to celebrate that was that professional to throw a shoe at a visiting head of state?

  3. It was confirmed at the Zanupf Headquarters and in Mutare that MDC won the 2008 elections if we had followed the rule of law Zimbabwe would be in a better situation as we speak like it or not, but alas we sell tsenza everywhere now.

  4. You are delusional, she is a good journalist, asked good questions, to avoid embarassment our leader should have told her I was elected for another 5 year term in 2013 period, was that too hard?

  5. When sanctions are lifted if they are there what do you do, you cannot even manufacture a bar of soap. You think sanction lifting is access to money, from where?

  6. They are not nonenties but they are just a bunch of people who enjoy tea and protecting loot and human rights abuses.

  7. i think we need a bit of brain, zanupf people were just denied entry into civilised countries and you cry sanctions. We roamed as zimbabweans around the globe only human rights abusers were affected and they vented their anger on us. We are victims of vindictiveness of the ruling class which has failed, and you maybe beneficiaries of a system which has gone bonkers, tosangana muma pot holes nemudima imomo anyway.

  8. She was threatened, she did a good job, she shouldn’t have apologised that was a good question…

  9. Honestly speaking were the questions and apporach from the reporter professional? As much as Mugabe has his bad side Adeola needs to go back to the desk. You guys you dealing with your personal haterage of Mugabe. If you start looking things as they are you probably will agree the journalist crossed the line a bit. Questions asked were not an issue it is the last comments she made to herself not realising she was also recorded. Those in Uk remember how Gordon Brown was caught on microphone making stupid comments. She is a good journalist unfortunately like any other person she let her own personal values override her professional values.

  10. Mai weeHH!! Its now official oppose Mugabe at you own risk!! the shame that Zimbabwe is has been confirmed to the whole world. Cross Mugabe’s path and you are victimised swiftly. That is why every Zimbo in this country must be granted asylum. Mugabe is a politician who doesnt tolerate opposition. Bush akatemwa neshangu
If this lady was a Zimbo her grave will be next to Dzamara. DICTATOSHIP WILL END. God will not let us suffer forever

  11. You are the most ignorant sucker online, how on earth do you defend an old overstayer whos busy destroying our heritage. Our lives are completely wasted we will never know peace and opportunities unless we go into exile. The old man has failed you know it and you are paid to pretend not to know. No lipstick will make a pig look clean Mugabe must go He has failed to run a country

  12. You make the wild & unsubstantiated claim that the 2008 & 2013 elections were rigged but that’s clearly pub-talk devoid of any logic!! Otherwise can you explain:
    1) why did MDC -T withdraw the court case if they really had solid damning evidence??!! It was obvious that their allegations wouldn’t stand the rigorous scrutiny of a fully contested court trial!!
    2) why is it the opposition polling agents, numbering more than 10 000 did NOT raise anything about irregularities until after announcement of results??!!
    3) isn’t it rather curious that despite the alleged irregularities MDC-T still managed to convincingly retain their dominance of urban areas??!! Surely ZPF would have concentrated their rigging prowess in these places??!!
    4) if you seriously believe the allegations of special ink and migrating Xs then you can believe anything & everything…ingano dzaana tsuro nagudo!!

  13. If the state media was as bad as you allege (which by implication would mean the so-called “independent” media was better) how come year in, year out the ZAMPS independent media surveys always show the Herald light years ahead of the Daily Noise (aka Daily News) and Noise Day (aka NewsDay)??!! Chokwadi chinorwadza…

  14. Plz do NOT display your ignorance on a public forum like this!! You think those foolish questions was journalism ??!!…ukapembedza Benzi rinotiza nechitunha!! Why is age a problem only for Gushaz; do you know how old is the British queen??!!

  15. If you seriously believe that SADC & AU are nonentities you’re sick beyond redemption!!

  16. You can go on living in your own “fools paradise” where you hallucinate that “your president was never elected” but that’s really your choice. Zviroto zviroto hazvirambidzwe, one day you shall wake up from your daydream…

  17. Yes I actually watched her full Video. Not only was she being sarcastic, she was also being defiant by taking a dig at Jonathan Moyo who sings for his supper. She also took another dig at the Goblin by posting that dreaded photo of his Airport fall.Only desperate Zanoids can believe otherwise.

  18. Okay, its very clear the State media is in a desperate mode to spin the story.I just watched the full Video she posted explaining herself and she did not apologize profusely to Bob as falsy stated by the lick spittle state media.Despite her sacarsm, she also indicated how AmonPour from CNN also asked the same question about Bob stepping down.In fact she was even defiant in her Video saying Bob and his wife lost the plot. Not only did she roast Matibili again, she also posted that dreaded picture of the Goblin falling at the Airport and took a dig at Jonathan Moyo who sings for his Supper. That does not sound anything like eating humble pie at all,but then again the State Media can only stoop so low to boot lick the Goblin Matibili .Thus why many of us don’t read the Herald coz the truth is always hidden to appease the Fossil.

  19. To call Adeola Fayehun a journalist is a very sick joke; that delusional woman deserves the sack, and more…
A journalist should do background research before mouthing off ignorant opinions. If that stupid Adeola had done so she wouldn’t have made an absolute fool of herself. Unlike her country which has the dubious distinction of endless coups she would have known that Zim has been regularly conducting elections as and when they fall due. Shouldn’t she have been more concerned about Boko Haram??!! And who appointed her the spokesperson for Zimbos ??!!

  20. There is sarcasm in the apology …only an idiot can beleive this…

  21. Those of us who support ZANUPF that he leads. Tsvangiruza lost dismally! Constitutionally speaking , the people of Zimbabwe elected our dear leader, who shall govern until 2018 , when we have the next plebiscite.

  22. Ask your political masters to remove sanctions and you will see our economy recovering. If you think your sellout party MDC will reap political capital from sanctions you are hallucinating. The UN recognizes the current government in Zimbabwe as legitimate and legal . Where do you get your lies from. Stop feeding from the foolish political forehead of your TSVANGIRUZA. SADC ,AU and UN are agreed that the next elections in Zim will be in 2018, because the 2013 was a success and a closed chapter. Get that in your confused skull! I need hardly continue to lecture you on that naked truth!

  23. I repeat, Matibili embarrassed himself by failing to answer simple questions that are banned from being asked in Zim .

  24. ”President Mugabe maintained his dignity and ignored her”? wtf is this Zanu PF scribe talking about, did he even watch the tape?.Mugabe looked completely bemused and tried to talk back, but his handlers pressed him to get in the car.He looked out of sorts and wanted to flee Nigeria in a haste. If Matibili had been White, his face would have turned Red coz he was roasted and embarrassed.

  25. Don’t believe the rubbish propaganda in the Herald/Sunday Mail. After all we are still waiting for the so called Mega Deals that Matibili signed with China. Zanu PF is just desperate trying to save face of Roasted Matibili. So this story is just that…..a typical Zanu PF hoax.

  26. ZANU is a party of elections not of leading the people to prosperity.Poverty only is associated with ZANU.Only selfish people ,a few benefiting are the ones singing ZANU.Biti said ZANU won as he had his own agenda. There are no stooges when one says a 90 year old can not be recycled. The brain is dysfunctional, worse his followers.SADC, AU are non entities.UN never said elecions were free and fair.It is the imaginations of ZANU goons. If ZANU had won fairly, why were you camping at Harvest house daily after winning? What have you done for the country besides singing West every time?

  27. Being old is not sin for Cde Mugabe. His age is known to Zimbabweans who celebrate his birthday yearly with pomp! The people of Zimbabwe , not that lunatic decide who governs Zim. They will not vote for your Tsvangiruza! Period!

  28. Ask the SADC, AU and UN who all accepted the Zimbabwean 2013 elections results. We had former Nigerian President Olu Obasanjo as an observer for AU! If the AU accepted the elections results as expressing the will of the Zimbabwean majority, are we going to waste time listening to the lunatic fringe? You can continue barking neo colonially in vain!

  29. Soo fun to learn that a question that demands the truth can be considered rude by others who do not want the truth to come out. Go even higher Madame Adeola. You are a heroine, even Jonathan Moyo himself would have become speechless. The truth speaks for itself. Makajaira kudederwa nevanhu veZimbabwe but an end to it is coming. Watch!!!!!

  30. Without illegal and satanic economic sanctions Zimbabweans would not suffer at all. The West should have accepted our land reform without making a neo colonial reprisal. Cde Mugabe was duly elected . SADC ,AU and UN accepted the 2013 elections results . Only the West and their stooges, MDC wrongly disputed the results. Biti , who was MDC Sec General admitted that ZANUPF won becoz it had an attractive manifesto. You can dwell on you ignorance about the elections in Zimbabwe , but ZANUPF will continue discharging its mandate from electorate. 2018 is nigh ,and ZANUPF will use MDC for breakfast !

  31. Well she is one messenger who was shot down after she had delivered her message and it had been heard loud and clear!

  32. Well one would not put it beyond the ZAnu PF propaganda machine to lie to create a false impression!

  33. Well this time it was Mugabe who got the hammer blows in the form of hard hitting questions. He thought his vote rigging had been forgotten only to be reminded of it when he least expected!

  34. Mugabe is scared stiff of going back to Nigeria and case he bumps into anyone at Sahara TV!

  35. The fact of the matter is that Mugabe rigged the July 2013 elections just as he rigged the 2008 elections; the truth will come out and the whole world will know Fayehun was right. We will see who will be eating humble pie then! The years of rigging elections and riding roughshod over everyone are over, the writing is on the wall, Mugabe can pretend he cannot read but that will not stop the change that is already happening.
Ms Fayehun will find another job with an even bigger media house, now she has proven that she has guts!

  36. Zimbabwe never fell under military rule but suffered severe hunger, retardation and lawlessness.Tolerance creates better ideas to be lovedAge does not define understanding. That is why Mugabe has killed vitually everything with yes yes people clapping their hands. The questions were never rude but straightforward.Pointing at imperialism and history will never feed and employ millions of Zimbabweans in the streets.Your president was never elected and that must sink into your heads. He was beaten long back only to stay by force. It is people like you who die of heart attacks when the inevitable happens, people will rule.

  37. She deserves a sack! Asking an elected leader such silly questions was not good journalism. We had elections in 2013. Our dear leader was elected in elections accepted by SADC, AU and UN! The foolish journo knows well that since 1980 Zimbabwe`s constitution did not limit Head of government election to two terms as provided now in our new constitution. What was her aim in asking illogical and rude questions. Zimbabwe never fell under military rule since 1980 , unlike the Boko Harm land. For her to say there is no democracy in Zimbabwe , was the height of cheap Western sponsored propaganda! She is too young not even to understand the history of her own country and the need to seek a solution to the source of Boko Haram issue, emanating from British Lord Luggard , whose wife suggested that her own country , be named Nigeria while sitting at the colonial dinner table!

  38. This Journalist needed a fist on the head, the way they treated Peter Tatchell the last time Mugabe was in UK. How could they be so disrespectful to a head of state – never mind who is actually holding the office

  39. Madame Adeola please don’t go that cheap by resigning. Keep your head high you did very good, Mugabe is old that wasnt a lie, he never follows demogracy and that was not a lie. Ehh yahhh my sister oohhhh you did wonderful. African leaders need brave jounalists like you, keep going do no slow down, how can Jonathan Moyo big head control you when he is inZimbabwe. he must take care of the crumbling economy, foolish professor.

  40. This is the tragedy in Africa. If she is fired, of which is not, she will get a ten times better job at a Democracy advocate institute.Presidents must hold questions and answers to give a chance to explain their policies and as well as giving feedback on promises. In Africa, presidents want to rule and without questions asked.Kill and no one must ask.Loot and no one must ask.Presidents are accountable to themselves, not to the people who voted. They employ violent , bloody thirsty security who kill on assumption and guess. As Africa, we are waiting for a leader who goes on the podium on a question and answer session. That much we can say the people have power.
We need to forgive state media in Zimbabwe. It is a collection of folk tale people who want to see heads nodding for every silly statement they say.Jonathan Moyo will always brag , further tarnishing the image of the country. Moreover, Mugabe was never embarrassed, he embarrassed himself by not answering simple questions

  41. The Sunday Mail headline is false and misleading. Nothing of the sort happened. The young woman never apologized and is at her job.
