Another accident occured on Seke road on Christmas day. Details were sketchy at the time of writing while blood and goods were strewed all over the place.More to follow
Meanwhile the state media reported that 17 people died on Christmas eve alone.
FULL REPORT:17 People died on the Christmas Eve bringing the number of people killed to 64 since the beginning of the festive season.
Road accidents continue to claim more lives during the festive season amid calls for every road user to change their attitude.
Police statistics indicate that night driving coupled with human error has contributed much to the number of accidents.
Police spokesperson Chief Superintendent Paul Nyathi reiterated the need for every road user to value the sanctity of human life.
Masvingo province, probably with one of the busiest roads, recorded the highest number with 15 people killed followed by Matabeleland South province which has 10 people while Harare and Mashonaland East province recorded 8 people each.
Mashonaland Central province has the least number with one person killed.
This year tops the number of fatalities as 64 people have been killed compared to 56 during the same period last year.
443 people have been injured up from 293 last year.
