By Howard Nyoni| The founder of the Family Of God Church, and the man who officiated President Robert Mugabe’s inauguration after the 2013 elections, Andrew Wutaunashe is kicking his wife out of the matrimonial home, after being caught in an affair with a foreign concubine, this ZimEye.com reporter can reveal.
Wutaunashe, widely held as “Prophet,” has ditched his wife and settled for a young Tswana woman he has been dating for over a decade behind his wife, who is a medical professional, Dr. Rutendo Wutaunashe who stood with him through thick and thin when he had little sustenance in the church’s early years.
The relationship was underground for several years until last week when upon some church members discovering the secrets, the preacher was forced to make a public admission. This led to the preacher having to finally admit and then soon afterwards decide to kick his wife of over 35 years out of their Ruwa house. At the time of writing it was not clear if the eviction has been fully effected but church members alleged the preacher was simply using his strong ZANU PF powers to perform the act even before the divorce proceedings have been completed.
The preacher’s move has drawn the ire of his own church with thousands attacking him and some questioning his status as a “man of God” as before hailed.
The development officially confirmed by church spokesman Nehemiah Chingombe, follows an admission letter by the Wutaunashe last week in which he revealed he has been secretly inlove with the young Tswana woman for several years and is now kicking his wife out.
The below letter by Chingombe has furthermore drawn criticism from the church with some saying it is an insulting attempt to silent public scrutiny. Wrote one congregant, “this is how your hard earned money ends up doing. Wake up guys. These don’t seek your opinions, they tell you to put up or shut up; all they need from you is your money to fly business class to come and collect more from the gullible ones. You should learn to ask questions and get answers. That press statement came from VaChimombe and his number is there so call him. They met in Bushmead last night ask them what they were discussing. I also know that you were ululating when he preached about unfinished business. He knew he was marrying sooner rather than later.”
