Terrence Mawawa, Beitbridge| Barely a few weeks after being dragged to Beitbridge Police Station for sexually abusing 15 minors, Rayson Rushwaya Tsvangirai has been implicated in the smuggling of diamonds to South Africa.
Rayson, who has become infamous for bedding 15 minors in the border town, is languishing in custody after being denied bail by Resident Magistrate Gloria Takundwa.
The man was found in possession of the precious stones while he was on the run from the paedhophilic charges he is facing. The police descended on him and searched his vehicle and discovered the precious stones hidden in his car.
As he was being taken to the charge office ,parents and guardians of children he sexually abused positively identified him.
As if that was not enough, Rayson is also facing charges of forging the signatures of customs officers and is likely to be charged with fraud. He is now facing charges of sexually abusing minors and unlawful possession of precious stones.
“Harare police want him for fraud. He was found with scanned signatures of all Beitbridge customs officers and he could be charged with fraud,” said Prosecutor Nomathemba Sayi.
Rayson caused commotion in Beitbridge when he used his niece as a bait to attract schoolgirls to a local hotel where he allegedly sexually abused them before giving them gifts and cash.
He was mobbed by parents and guardians of the schoolgirls he abused as well as children’s rights activists who called for a stiff penalty on him.
