A habit is a practice, a custom, at pattern or tendency. And when you do something good, be genuine and do it from your heart. Here are the top ten good habits that changed people’s lives. They can also change your life if you apply them consistently.
Constant Reading And Studying
Constant reading and studying is linked to mental and spiritual wellness and fitness. Reading and constant studying is ranked highest of all good habits that changed people’s lives. Many people said ‘Reading a book every day before going to bed’ changed their lives. Some read 15 to 30 minutes a day on a topics of choice in various categories whether it business, inspirational, personal finance, marketing, psychology etc. Fiction and novels were excluded. One said ‘Books are man’s second best friend after dog.’ Instead of spending a lot of time watching TV, reading at least 12 new books every year opens ones world.
Regular Exercise

It brings a person in tune with his body, soul and spirit, and prepares one to face the future challenges. Most people prefer prayer and meditation early in the morning and some any time of the day. ‘Starting each morning with a devotional is a great way to start the day.’
Good Eating Behaviour
Good eating behaviour affects the body. If you want your body to perform well exercise and eat properly. Eating healthier is ranked the fourth top good habits that change lives. This is not just dieting to lose weight but developing a healthy lifestyle. This include cutting fat, healthier nutritional intake, staying away from alcohol (and its consequence), drinking more water, avoiding junk foods, avoid carbonated drinks but taking fruit juice and staying away from any addictive substances.
Being True To Yourself And Your Convictions
Learn to say no is difficult, but ‘being true to yourself and your convictions’ is ranked the fifth top habits that changed lives. Being true to yourself and your convictions and not minding if some people call you selfish or opportunist for that. You just can’t make everyone happy. At times you got to take a stand, that could upset some one or other. Do not worry what people think. The fact is, people rarely think about you as much as you think they do. Don’t ever let anybody tell you that you are no good. Always believe in yourself, no matter what they say. Follow your heart but take your head with you. Life is short. It was said rather go to bed early and wake up early, rather than going to bad late and wake up late. You cannot cheat when you come to sleep. You have to pay one way or another. Some prefer waking up at 5 am. Though it may be very difficult in the first few days, if you stick to a fixed getting-up time, you’ll be amazed at how energetic you feel for the whole day!
Volunteering
Volunteering is top on the good habits at number seven. Just do it in an organised way or just do random acts of kindness. It can be one hour you spend talking to that struggling pregnant teenage mother or that one hour bonding with that orphan which might change the course of their lives more than you could ever imagine. Be kind and smile at someone and help them, if it need. Also try helping someone anonymously.
Drink Water Regular.

Many people drink water at the start of the day, other carry bottles of drinking water and other add lemon juice for detoxification. Most people indicated that drinking a lot of water reduces stress levels and keep the body healthy.
Writing.
Writing is mentioned as the ninth to good habit that changes lives. Some people write every day for 1 to 2 hours preferably in the morning. Some write for a blog and other write in a journal for a few minutes daily. The idea is to put ones thoughts on paper.
Constant Introspection
Plan your life based on your dreams, goals and aspirations, but more importantly constantly evaluate the progress. This is the tenth top good habit that changes lives. Constant introspection involves ‘laying on the bed every night and then run the film of my entire day, or past week, month or year. It brings happiness, proud feeling, or at times brings guilt. Hence, reflecting regularly on what success means to you.
