Harare(ZimEye)Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai has warned party members challenging his position as party president, and instructed them to stand away from eyeing his position.
Speaking to mourners at the burial of the late Professor Eliphas Mukonoweshuro at Warren Hills Cemetery, Tsvangirai re-affirmed his grip on the MDC-T party as he declared war against any dissenting voices within his party:
“As a leader, I sometimes tell members to keep quiet and also tell them what to do. Unwavering supoort is what we want.

“But others also want to become leaders, wait your time will come,” said Tsvangirai.
“Those who wish me gone today should realise that we have a mission to complete, and why should I go before that mission is complete?” asked Tsvangirai.
Reports of factions have been rampant in the MDC-T party.
It is widely reported that a large number of members are currently backing Secretary General Tendai Biti as the better replacement for Tsvangirai.
The power struggle was first noticed in 2009 when the party’s Jonathan Chawora-led UK executive, thought to be loyal to Tsvangirai, was forced out by Biti loyalists.
Biti first suspended the Chawora executive citing “extensive bickering and negative application of energy” as well as “shocking financial irregularities”, amid claims it was channelling money directly to Tsvangirai instead of the party’s treasurer.
At one tension-filled meeting, Biti’s young brother, Stanford, was reported to have thrown eggs at Jonathan Chawora and some of his executive members.

I salute you for honestly pointing out vividly our country’s political situation.I’m sure every sensible citizen of ZIMBABWE will no doubt agree with your contribution. But then you did not suggest any offers to solve this national problem.
I notice that you appear to point out negative thoughts against one tribe in our country. May I say that this is wrong; for, not every Shona agrees with what has and what is going on.
The open secret is we must see no tribal issues, regionalism, etc.but to unite and speak with one national voice against the evils man do.And together, with one vioice ,we can!

  3. Tendai Biti is far much better than Tsvangirai,a tribalist, corrupt and a dictator. He goes every where impregnanting 19 year old girls. This man can’t be our country President never.

  4. Mbiti yenyu Machinja yavakutorambirapo isati yagara. Mission ipi yacho yekutengesa nyika nxaaa.

  5. Max your people once believed Mujgabe was the best like what you saying of Tsvangirai but what did Mugabe bring?pEOPLE SUFFERED, REMEBER THE GENOCIDE WHICH HAS BROUGHT NGOZI AND EMOTIONAL TRAUMA TO THE POOR PERPETRATOR WHILE mugabe dines and wines over seas.Teachers went without food or shoes.Cholera, murambatsvina , nepotism, corruption, dictatorship and endeless killings. He also sent his team to get diesel from rocks in Chinhoyi. The world was stunned i tell you Im ashamed that I was ruled by this lot for some time. Now your TSVANGIRAI IS NOW BEHAVING EXACTLY LIKE mugabe you will not see it coz he will never be president anyway.

  6. Hatidi kunzva zvaana STANFORD mhani–who is he? a piece of Ssshiit, sorry for swearing but I just had to say it. So?

  7. Politics, politics, politics.
When all is said and done Tsvangirayi remains the most popular leader of day in Zimbabwe – period.
He has a heart for the people and noone can take that away from him.

  8. If shona people are as clever and as ‘educated’ as they think, why can’t they do anything successfully without fighting for power? You can’t all be leaders for crying out loud! Look at zanu, Tongogara was eliminated, mujuru faction, mnangagwa faction etc, now look at mdc, there are mdc t, mdc 99, mdc m, mdc n, mdc whatever…..! Why? Its all driven by greed. In 1980, the smith regime handed over to these people, a healthy and vibrant economy and in only 20years, its been sucked dry by power hungry vampires! If Dynamos has a successful season, 5 warring executives emerge, all of them fighting over money. And the latest trend is that everyone is starting a church coz noone wants to be led and noone believes in working their way to the top. Corruption, greed and nepotism is the order of the day and I doubt if all these so called leaders in both zanu and mdc can run a successful rural tuckshop without fighting! The mdc and zanu are just the same. Bloodsucking vampires who manipulate the poor youth to bash each other’s brains out on the street in the name of non existent revolutions, while the greedy leaders wine, dine and loot in the cover of darkness! It is time that all progressive shona people stood up and show us that they are indeed educated because as things stand, there is nothing to show for it… My dear friend Lawrence Mateveke(may hi soul rest in peace) said this in our college class 10yrs ago, if only he was here to see more of this uncultured greed from his clansman!

  9. hi merciless,

i suggest to try again under a meaningful topic
    regards

  10. Well spoken Cde Somhlaba Mthunzi, Zanu Pf is the the only democratic party with a sound leadership in the country.

  11. He is a product of ZANU and lack of education makes it difficult to come up with a new formula in poolitics.I thought all MDCT problems came from Welshman NCUBE BUT NOW i REALISE THE FLIP FLOP MAN HAS REALISED otherwise.Imagine if this man was the president and all world dealers were talking to hima at a go.Mobutu you will only be president of MDC and never the country because you full of rot.I dont support ZANU but I think its better this dictator in the making and tribalist too.H e only knows how to impregnant girls young enough to be his grandchildren.

  12. MY deepest sympathy goes to the Mukonoweshuro family and Zimbabwe as a whole for the loss of such a brave fighter. Party principles and constitution must be followed. If anyone has to surrender money to the party then it has to go straight to the treasury and not to an individual’s pocket, even the president of a party has no right to use the money at willy-nilly without the aproval of the council(members of the party). The Chaora executive was corrupt….period!!!

  13. Please don’t run away from the main subject here. We are commenting on the remarks made by Tsvangirai at the burial of one of his own. His statement implies that the death of Mukonoweshuro is good riddance coz he was part of the conspiracy to oust him? Do you really have to talk about differences at a funeral or its time to show love, unity and compassion amongst yourselves.

  14. PM we dont want to hear that otherwise we wont be able to differentiate the people’s party from that other one

  15. Heyi madoda! Mr Ngwarai Murefu, those are extremely demanding requirements! All that just to meet the honourable minister of youth empowerment? eish!

  16. Merciless ule card lomsangano yini? Cde Kasukuwere is easy to contact from Davies Hall or look for Cde. Jabulani Sibanda or just go to governor Cain Mathema’s office. I wish you good luck. I however doubt if you will succeed. The way you talk, you are not a disciplined, partriotic and revolutionary conscious party cadre deserving some assistance from our Youth Minister of Empmowerment hardwaorking and exemplary Kasukuwere. Can you defend the party really by dealing effectively with the malcontents and the dissidents? Unokudza here tsika yomusangano sezvinoda vaCde. Mutasa? Uyahlonipha yini abadala obaba uCde. John Landa Nkomo? Do you unequivocally support The President of the Zimbabwe, the Commander in Chief of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces, the First Secretary of The Vanguard Revolutionary party and its objectives to rule for ever? Are you willing to reject all imperialists machinations of the MDC and the little Zapu ka Dabengwa? Will you make sure that these are crushed like flies in Bulawayo and else where? Are you willing to join the other patriotic youth who are ready to seize other people’s proporties? If you can answer these questions seriously, may be your application can be considered.

  17. Can someone please link our good friend merciless with Saviour Kasukuwere, at least he is not ashamed to ask. Let’s work together as Zimbabweans for once and help create employment.

  18. I started reading articles on this website 3 days ago and I ve noticed that some people here seem to be living in a better Zimbabwe than some of us. Can one of you please tell me how I can get an audience with Kasukuwere, I need financial assistance to start my project that has a potential to create 50 jobs in Bulawayo. Banks need collateral and I don’t have it.

  19. Please Makwembere comment on what your leader said. How do you view his words. Your analysis please.
These are his own words, said at a funeral and said to the cream of MDC-T including Biti i guess.

  20. Zvanakira gudo kukwira tsoko, kuti tsoko ikwirewo yonzi ibva hausvikire, une kadiki.

  21. Hapana zviripo apa. Leave our president to ourselves. DO you know how many people love him? 3/4 of the whole of Zimbabwe follow our party.
If you were to look into the Zim electorate you would notice:
    77% are MDC-T
    5% are MDC Ncube
    15% are ZANU PF
    3% are Simba Makoni
You can try to bring us down but it does not change anything
