Gweru – A 13 year old boy has murdered a 41 year old housemaid during an argument over a memory card.
The row was over the missing memory card as well as a tool box and ended in tragedy in Gweru’s Mkoba 20 high density suburbs when the 41 year old woman, identified as Nyarai Kadonzva was murdered in cold blood.
In a bloody scene that left the maid’s dead body in a toilet, the lad from Gweru’s Mkoba 20 struck the woman with a hoe.
The 13 year old who has since been arrested by police, allegedly struck the deceased with the hoe before attempting to commit suicide by drinking a cleaning detergent.

He then hid the body for over two days as he attempted suicide.
Missing memory card

The incident occured on Sunday evening and the juvenile allegedly spent two days with the body in the house without alerting anyone.
He later attempted suicide by drinking a detergent but survived and is currently admitted at ay Gweru provincial hospital where he is recuperating.
He told journalists on his hospital bed how he struck Kadonzva on the head with a hoe several times after she had accused him of stealing a memory card and a tool box.
He then dragged the body of the deceased from the lounge to the toilet were he removed her blood stained clothes and placed them in a plastic bag and left the deceased lying in a pool of blood. Neighbours say on Sunday evening at close to midnight they heard a sharp scream which quickly subsided. It is said the following day when they attempted to investigate what might have happened, the boy refused to open the doors.
The boy’s parents are in Mozambique where they work and he was living with the maid. The murder comes within two weeks of a 19 year old man who brutally murdered his mother in Gweru’s Lundi Park having charged at her for refusing to give him money and a car.
