When Shona Tribes in Zimbabwe listen to Late Leader of PF-ZAPU they become happy thinking that Nkomo was not a accusing them…i say to the Shonas listens carefully and listen from the interviewer his questions and to what Cde Nkomo said on asking the then Prime Minister Cde Robert Mugabe about the formation of the Fifty Brigade i Gukurahundi…..Cde Nkomo was trying by his all means to extinguish fire the seeing situation that Zimbabwe was going negatively through to the mouth of the dogs(civil war)….i say ”yes” Shonas butchered Ndebeles 100% using Gukurahundi and being backed by the British to quell out ZIPRA Forces thinking that they will to politicise the Masses on Russian/Communist principle (doctrines)….the British through Lord Carrington where happy to see ZANU(PF) fighting PF-ZAPU…even today the British Government never,never commented accusing about the atrocities deeds by ZANU(PF) in Matebeland and Midlands Regions….

He truly was a Great man. I like his humility and simplicity. Of course our history has been distorted but when we listen to the very people who were in the thick of things we understand better. May his soul rest in peace.
I have said it again and again that Gukurahundi was never about the Shonas against the Ndebeles because some Shonas,Tongas,Kalangas,Vendas,Nambias,Shangaanis were victims of Gukurahundi.Please I will not get tired of reminding you fellow Zimbabweans that Kukurahundi was a ZANU project and not a Shona one.You are giving your children wrong information and by so doing you are exonerating the culprits/perpetrators of the great genocide. All Joshua was saying was for people to be able to distinguish between Shona and ZANU. I have had some people say Nkomo was outfoxed by Mugabe.Nkomo only refused to be like Mugabe and for that I shall forever respect him even in his death. He did not say Shona completely “Innocent” of Gukurahundi. Please listen carefully. If you don’t know, this interview was conducted when talks were being mooted. So this illustrious man could not blame anyone for the disturbances.
That is why he was called “Father of the nation”. He could not blame his “children” in public. Nkomo was just an intelligent man. He never said “Pasi na………”. Never. He actually hated the word “Pasi na…..”. He did not want to hear that.
I am very happy I once talked to this man during the 80s and 90s. We could meet him near his house in Pelandaba or alternatively Number 6 coming from school in Mpopoma. He was a great man. HE could ask us where we came from. I could tell him from Mberengwa and BOY! He knew the whole district of Mberengwa like the back of his hand. All the chiefs, everything. He could as you specifically where. He would pick one person specifically from the area. If you did not know them then he could ask you to investigate during the school holidays and come back to him with a letter written by that person.
I can tell you this man knew Zimbabwe from A to Z. He could address me in Shona but he emphasized that I was also supposed to know Ndebele since Mberengwa has a mixture. I told him I did and he was happy.
