Staff Reporter |The ruling ZANU PF party has handed over a list of students to be enrolled as trainee teachers, at the Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo Teachers’ College in Gwanda, Zimeye.com can exclusively reveal.
Impeccable sources at the college told Zimeye.com that against the college recruitment policy, the party through its Members of Parliament in Matabeleland South, presented names of people to be trained at the college after the college had already completed interviews for prospective students.
According to the sources, the college adminstration has been ordered to stick to the list provided whether or not the persons involved were previously interviewed by the college.
A source within ZANU PF Gwanda structures confirmed that the party had also submitted its list of potential students to the college, claiming that the list was not of final students to be enrolled at the college.
“The party did solicit for qualified young people from around the province through its MPs for consideration at college but never imposed the names to college,” he said.
“The move was basically to curb corruption at the college where authorities were recruiting people unfairly,” he added.
Officials at the college refused to comment on the matter claiming that issues to do with recruitment of students were above their jurisdiction.

  1. Corruption at its best. Why not let students apply like is done is other colleges. That is why the likes of Mawarire are making noise everyday, it is because of such actions which are now being done without shame or fear. They do not care anymore. it is like they are in a vacuum with no one to say no. Your voice will not be heard they always do what they want. Kusvika rinhiko nhai wedue (until when such things and acts will end in our country?)
