By Paul Nyathi| Former Deputy Prime Minister Authur Mutambara says that the ruling ZANU PF party is responsible for the death of MDC-T leader Morgan Tsvangirai.
Addressing nearly 100 000 mourners who gathered to send their final farewells to Tsvangirai in Buhera on Tuesday, the eloquent Mutambara told the ZANU PF delegation to the funeral that the party knows what happened to Tsvangirai.
“ZANU PF killed Tsvangirai and they know what they did to him that eventually led to his death,” said Mutambara.
Mutambara said this looking directly at ZANU PF National Chairperson Oppah Muchinguri who was accompanied by Monica Mutswanga.
Making his address to the mourners a little later, MDC-T leader Nelson Chamisa took swipe at Mutambara for his direct attack of ZANU PF saying that it was against the spirit of the burial.
Chamisa apologised to the ZANU PF leaders for Mutambara’s utterances calling on the opposition parties to exercise tolerance with each other as the 2018 elections approach.
Meanwhile, MDC-T supporters strongly booed Muchinguri as she sent her party’s condolences to the Tsvangirai family and the rival MDC-T.
Chamisa had to come to her rescue asking the huge crowd to give her a chance to speak.
