Former UZ Dean Dies In Texas

Former University of Zimbabwe Dean of students George Chadzima has died.

Chadzima died at a hospice in Texas, United States of America after a long illness.

Chadzima died on Wednesday at a time when his family was running an online plea to help transport him to Zimbabwe to be next to his mother as his last wish.

Well wishers who are mostly former University of Zimbabwe students had managed to raise $5 800 of the $15 000 that was needed to help him get back to Zimbabwe comfortably.

“His last wishes are to be with his mother who resides in Zimbabwe,” said Mattie Bonier- Madzima a family member.

The family is yet to advise on the burial arrangements and continues to extent a begging bowl to friends and well wishers to assist render the former dean a befitting farewell.
 
“We are currently awaiting to hear from our family in Zimbabwe and we will update you all,” said Bonier- Madzima.

“We want to thank you all for your donations and prayers during this time and we ask that you continue to support us financially as we begin final arrangements for George and the family.”
