The former President Robert Mugabe’s wife, Grace met her match today in Mashonaland Central Province as angry small scale miners chased her from a mine. It is reported that Grace Mugabe approached a mine owned by hundreds of small scale miners at Monde 4 in Mazowe and ordered the miners to vacate the area as she claimed ownership of the rich fields. (ALSO LISTEN TO INTERVIEW WITH MINE OWNER) The miners responded by singing the popular song “kutonga kwaro” and refused to vacate the land and added that they owned the mine. A group of angry miners then charged at the former “powerful” First Lady leading her to leave in a huff with tears dropping from her eyes. After the circus Grace proceeded to Mazowe police station and filed a report and claimed that she had been harassed. One of the mine owners speaks to ZimEye below –
