Disgruntled MDC supporters have vowed to block a party official who has been imposed in Masvingo Urban Constituency as the Parliamentary candidate despite losing the primary election.

MDC supporters have said they will block Jacob Nhokanhete from filing his papers at the Nomination Court tomorrow.

Impeccable party sources yesterday claimed Nyokanhete lost to Boniface Mazarire in the Masvingo Urban Constituency primary election last month.Mazarire polled 394 votes while Nyokanhete got 334 votes.

However the MDC Provincial leadership allegedly imposed Nyokanhete as the Parliamentary candidate for Masvingo Urban Constituency.

“We will not just stand idle and watch some misguided elements trampling on the founding values of the party,” a senior MDC official said yesterday.
