By Own Correspondent| ZANU PF leader, Emmerson Mnangagwa has addressed the Nelson Mandela Peace Summit where he emphasised the importance of global leadership as a tool towards realising the late South African icon’s vision of peace, equality, human dignity and justice.

A day before the start of the General Debate of the 73rd session of the General Assembly, the UN convened the Nelson Mandela Peace Summit whose focus is on Global Peace in honour of the centenary of the birth of Nelson Mandela.

This Peace Summit offered the opportunity for world leaders to renew their commitment to global peace, conflict prevention, conflict resolution, peacebuilding, promotion and protection of human rights and long-term development initiatives as called for by the Secretary-General.

The Peace Summit also aimed at adopting a political declaration to reaffirm the values of Nelson Mandela.

Said Mnangagwa:

“Today at the UN, I addressed the Nelson Mandela Peace Summit, emphasising the importance of providing global leadership to realise his vision of peace, equality, human dignity and justice.

At home and abroad, we will continue to honour his memory through these ideals! #Mandela100.”
