Mnangagwa Accident Death Toll Increases

Own Correspondent|One more person has died following Friday morning’s accident in the Harare CBD which was witnessed by President Emmerson Mnangagwa, bringing the death toll to four.

Three people died on the spot, and one of the four others injured died at Parirenyatwa hospital.

Police Spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed that the dead are two males and two females.

The accident happened at corner 7th Street and Herbert Chitepo when a Honda Fit, travelling along 7th Street collided with a Honda Elysion, resulting in 3 people losing their lives on the spot.

Eyewitnesses say the Honda Fit proceeded against a red traffic light resulting in the collision.

Mnangagwa witnessed the accident when his motorcade passed through the intersection as the injured and dead were being removed from the wreckage.

The motorcade slowed down to a near halt as traffic congested at the scene giving the President a clear view of the accident. He has not commented on the incident yet.
