By Own Correspondent| A 25-year-old man from Mushumbi Pools who hammered his father to death over witchcraft allegations has been hauled before a Guruve magistrates court on murder allegations.

Clive Jimmy of Bandayi village under Chief Chisunga in Mushumbi Pools allegedly killed his father with a hammer after he was told by a traditional healer that his father had bewitched him.

He was not asked to plead when he appeared before magistrate Shingirai Mutiro, who remanded him in custody to April 24.

Carson Kundiona, representing the state, alleged that Jimmy was convinced by a Mbire traditional healer that family members had caused his mental sickness and failure to marry.

He then took a hammer and smashed his father Idaek Jimmy (59)’s head.

He was rushed to Parirenyatwa hospital where he died the following day.-Newsday
