Jane Mlambo| The opposition Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) has blasted government over its recent threats to crush anti-government protests saying their failure to arrest the collapsing economy is a scheme to lead the country to total chaos so that they can eliminate peceived enemies.

Addressing a press conference at the party headquarters today, Spokesperson Jacob Mafume accused Zanu PF of suffocating the nation and lacking care for the ordinary people who continue to endure hard times.

“The people who are responsible for the suffering of the population and economic decay are ZANU PF. They lack care for the ordinary person, they fly Swiss jets, they are corrupt and have resisted the moves and offers for dialogue,” said Mafume.

“They actually want the country to degenerate into chaos so that they eliminate everyone they perceive an enemy, they are pushing everyone outside of bounds of the constitution. the MDC will not be tempted into such a trap, it is not our way of doing business,” added Mafume.
