FORMER Dynamos talisman, Denver Mukamba reminded the world of his brilliance when he rose from the bench to inspire Chapungu to a draw against big spenders Manica Diamonds in a premiership match played at Mandava yesterday.

Mukamba suffered psychological problems which derailed and almost ended a promising career.

But after a prolonged stay on the sidelines, the former Warriors winger inspired the airmen to an audacious comeback on his debut, when he cancelled Kudakwashe Gurure’s 77th minute goal for Manica Diamonds with a well taken strike in stoppage time.

Chapungu is renowned for instilling discipline in the group which might save the career of Mukamba if he changes his ways.

Coach Rodwell Dhlakama was happy with a share of spoils at the final whistle and thanked his new recruit for the goal.

“I want to thank God for the result. Denver helped us a lot, we could have lost this game but we managed a point.

“We are relieved, so much and I hope we will start picking maximum points soon and end this winless streak,” said Dhlakama.

Manica Diamonds coach Luke Masomere was distraught to concede in the dying stages of the match.
“We had so many chances but we just scored only one goal, on a good day we could have won the match but clearly we are lacking firepower upfront.

“Since the club does not have the money to buy more players, we have to work with what is available,” said Masomere.State media
