By A Correspondent- The woman who ran over and killed Sagelaw, the son of the late liberation war hero Dick ‘Cde Chinx’ Chingaira, in a hit and run accident near Greencroft Shopping Centre on Saturday handed herself over to the police.

The police confirmed that the yet to be named woman is now in police custody after she turned herself in and confessed the offence to the police. This was a day after the accident.

ZRP National Police Spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the development saying:

The police can confirm that the lady who killed Sagelaw Chingaira on Saturday handed herself in on Sunday and now awaits to appear in court. We urge the public not to run away from accidents but instead to notify the police.

Sagelaw, who many saw as the natural heir to continue in his father’s footsteps in the same way that Suluman Chimbetu and Peter Moyo have managed to keep the torches of their late fathers’ music burning, was buried on Tuesday at Glenforest Cemetry.
