By A Correspondent| A vendor arrested and assaulted by police last week, Hilton Tafadzwa Tamangani, has died in police custody.

Tamangani was one of the 11 vendors arrested last week and the court was yet to rule on his bail application after the matter was this week postponed for a second time.

He was arrested with 10 others for allegedly assaulting a police officer at the Chicken Inn at Kwame Mall located at Kwame Nkrumah and Julius Nyerere.

He allegedly fled towards Robinson House where they were later found.

The lawyers representing the accused said that they were innocent people who were just found in the wrong place and time.
