Just In: Govt Ups 2 Percent Tax Free Threshold to ZWL$100

Jane Mlambo| Finance minister Professor Mthuli Ncube has told parliament that government has increased the tax free threshold from the current ZWL20 to ZWL100 to cushion low income earners and high volume businesses.

Presenting the 2020 national budget, Ncube said;

“In order to cushion low income earners and high volume businesses, I propose to review the Tax-Free Threshold from the current ZWL$20 to ZWL$100 and the maximum tax payable per transaction by corporates from the current ZWL$15 000 to ZWL$25 000 on transactions with values exceeding ZWL$1 250 000, with effect from 1 January 2020,” he said.
