Mudenda In U-Turn Over MDC MPs Ruling

By A Correspondent- Speaker of parliament, Jacob Mudenda on Wednesday rescinded his decision to stop opposition legislators from debating in parliament as punishment for failure to recognise President Emmerson Mnangagwa as the legitimate leader of Zimbabwe.

Announcing his ruling, Mudenda said he had put into considerationthe fact that the country’s Constitution makes it mandatory for the president, his deputies and ministers to be accountable to parliament.

Said Mudenda:

“Accordingly, my previous ruling is hereby suspended to avoid any possible paralysis of parliamentary proceedings. I so rule.”
