Correspondent|The ruling ZANU-PF party will on Wednesday hold an ordinary meeting of the Politburo at its headquarters in Harare.

This was revealed by the party’s Secretary for Information and Publicity Simon Khaya Moyo in a statement. He said:

“The Secretary for Administration Dr Obert Mpofu wishes to advise all members that there shall be a Politburo meeting to be held on Wednesday 4 December 2019 at the party headquarters commencing at 1000 hours.”

The ZANU PF politburo is the party’s highest decision-making body outside Congress.

The bulk of its members are handpicked by the party’s First Secretary, who in turn holds office for five years after nominations from the provinces.

Vice President Constantino Chiwenga will be sitting in his first Politburo meeting after over six months in absence. Some members of the Politburo were already calling for his recall on grounds of ill health.
