Farai Dziva|Health experts in Masvingo have warned members of public against buying bread from Zanu PF initiated bakeries.

Speaking to ZimEye.com on Wednesday health experts expressed concern at the safety of the bread – for human consumption.

The health experts argue the bread has not been properly certified fit for human consumption.

“We are concerned about the safety of the bread -for human consumption.

This is a political project that is being controlled by politicians.They have not followed the proper procedure of seeking permission to operate such projects,” said one health officer.

However Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Information Nick Mangwana claimed:

“Community bakeries have started producing high quality confectionery products at less than half the price charged by conventional bakers in Masvingo.

A loaf of bread in parts of rural Masvingo is selling at $8,50 compared to $18,50 in urban outlets”
