By A Correspondent- Former husband to the former first lady Grace Mugabe Stanley Goreraza has blasted Emmerson Mnangagwa over the appointment of his Defence minister Oppah Muchinguri on the coronavirus taskforce.

Muchinguri, who was quoted in the media globally mocking the western countries over the pandemic which she said was punishment to the West for imposing sanctions on Zimbabwe is sitting on the recently established Coronavirus Taskforce.

Said Muchinguri, in a statement while addressing Zanu Pf supporters:

“This coronavirus that has come are sanctions against the countries that have imposed sanctions on us.

God is now punishing them now and they are staying indoors now while their economy is screaming like what they did to ours by imposing sanctions on us.

(US President Donald) Trump should know that he is not God. They (US) must face the consequences of coronavirus so that they also feel the pain.”

Goreraza however blasted the appointment of Muchinguri on the 11 member taskforce and said ::

“Muchinguri ‘s appointment of Oppah Muchinguri to the coronavirus task force brings out his drunken approach to his duties and the humourless jokes he is well known for. He thinks he is a funny man but nothing about the coronavirus is funny and Oppah Muchinguri is a big walking-talking joke. The day Mnangagwa leaves or is forced out of office, is the day most people who do not drink alcohol will partake, get drunk and remember that day of great joy forever.”

The ministers involved in the taskforce are Dr Obadiah Moyo who is the chairman (Health and Child Care), July Moyo who is the deputy chair (Local Government and Public Works), Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri (Defence and War Veterans Affairs), Kazembe Kazembe (Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage), Dr Sibusiso Moyo (Foreign Affairs and International Trade), Joel Biggie Matiza (Transport and Infrastructural Development), Mangaliso Ndlovu (Environment, Climate, Tourism and Hospitality Industry), Professor Mthuli Ncube (Finance and Economic Development), Professor Amon Murwira (Higher and Tertiary Education, Innovation and Science Technology Development and Monica Mutsvangwa (Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services).
