Farai Dziva|The MDC Alliance are firmly behind party president Nelson Chamisa, it has emerged.

During a meeting with MDC Alliance Secretary General Charlton Hwende at the weekend, the councillors declared allegiance to party leader, Chamisa.

Hwende tweeted after the meeting:

I addressed our Harare Councillors caucus meeting at MRT House.

Our Councillors are clear their party is MDC Alliance and the President is
@nelsonchamisa

They are not with the ZANU PF lapdogs
@DMwonzora and
Khupe but are standing with the people who elected them.”

He added:” Police have been deployed at our Bulawayo Provincial offices.

Last week Mwonzora wrote to the police requesting their assistance to forcefully take our offices.

We are monitoring the situation. We have documents that cannot be violated by brute force…”
