Former Ireland international and Manchester United skipper, Tony Dunne died at the age of 78.

During his 13 years stay at Old Trafford, Dunne was part of the squad that won the European Cup in 1968. He also won the FA cup in 1963 and the 1965 and 1967 English Football League First Division.

Tony Dunne was born on the 24th July 1941 and died on the 8th June 2020. The left back for the Red Devils made 535 appearances and scored 2 goals for the club. 

Some other clubs the great player played for include; Shelbourne, Bolton Wanderers and Detroit Express. 

He also played for the national team of Ireland and managed Steinkjer FK, a Norwegian football club base in Norway from 1982 to 1983.

The sudden demise of the former defender was announced on the official twitter account of Manchester United on Monday evening.
