By A Correspondent- The Zimbabwe Republic Police in Masvingo are indiscriminately assaulting residents in the central business district ordering them to go back home.

The development comes following an increase in the number of roadblozks that have been mounted in the town this morning.

Said a resident who spoke to ZimEye:

“We do not know what is happening and why we are being subjected to such. The police have increased their presence on our roads but what is worying is why they are beating up people in the CBD instructing everyone to go back home.”

The development comes following the presentation of a 6 paged press statement yesterday by government dismissing an imminent coup.
