By A Correspondent- An attempt to bribe police detectives by four armed robbers landed them in soup.

The matter came to light at Guruve magistrates courts on Friday where Never Zendelani (34), Patson Doro (33),Paul Baison (21) and Robson Doro all from Chiwaridzo,Bindura appeared before magistrate Shingirai Mutiro facing robbery charges.

They were remanded in custody to July 2.

The state led by Albert Mazhindu alleged on June 9 at Beris post the quartet armed with pistols pounced on three homesteads fired warning shots and robbed them of their money, two motor vehicle and a cell phone.

Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Mvurwi arm bushed the suspects and arrested them before recovering the stolen vehicles.

Upon their arrest the suspects tried to bribe the cops with US$15 and the police turned the bribe down.

Further investigations revealed that the suspects had evaded a police road block using an unregistered motor vehicle
