By A Correspondent- A Chegutu Town council employee Love Chengeni (35) drowned yesterday while fixing  sewage pipes it has emerged.

Sources familiar with the incident alleged that a trench collapsed while Chengeni was changing dilapidated pipes.

It could however not be immediately established whether the deceased was on duty or not.

Said a source privy to developments:

“He drowned when a trench he was fixing collapsed. No-one was able to rescue him.”
