Ruvheneko Parirenyatwa
ZBC Journalist Ruvheneko Parirenyatwa has been fired from the state broadcaster.
The development was revealed in a tweet by her yesterday.
Reasons for the explosion were not clear at the time of writing. She however hinted that her bosses were motivated by feelings of being threatened by the youth. She lyrically revealed her thoughts saying,
“One day we won’t get suspended or fired for doing our jobs,” she tweeted. “One day we will get hired for our abilities and promoted for our brilliance. One day we won’t offend older men and women who feel threatened by excellence. Mediocrity and fear are the enemies of growth. One day, is one day.”
The development comes as the station she once worked for, CapiTalk – has suspended its head of content Nyaradzo Makombe.
Parirenyatwa was once fired from ZiFM Stereo for interviewing ThisFlag activist Evan Mawarire, and in August 2018, she was removed from CapiTalk over interviews she did of 1 August victims of violence.
