MDC-T Secretary General Douglas Mwonzora has commented on the move by Government to suspend by-elections indefinitely saying the prevailing situation on the ground justifies the move.

Speaking during a press conference following a Standing Committee meeting in Hatfield yesterday, Mwonzora said the decision by government on by-elections is fair.

“As MDC-T we know Covid-19 is real and we have leaders who tested positive to the pandemic, we are glad that they survived, the total number of our members who tested positive to Covid-19 are nine, so we understand the move by the minister of health to suspend by-elections, it wasn’t targeted against us but looking at the national situation,” said Mwonzora.
