Notorious Robbers Pounce On Motorists

By A Correspondent- 10 armed robbers wearing masks reportedly pounced on motorists and robbed them of their belongings in Beitbridge.

This was revealed by ZRP in a statement that revealed that they were looking for the armed robbers.

According to the police:

A motonst driving a Nissan Caravan with one passenger on board found the road blocked with large stones at the 10km peg along the said road and he went out to remove the stones. Ten men wearing face masks and baladawis, armed with pistols and knives attacked them by firing at their vehde. They stole cell-phones, cash and clothes from the duo.

Another motorist arrived at the scene and the robbers also shot at his vehicle, puncturing his front tyres. The motorist drove off, abandoned the vehicle and sought help.

Other motorists arrived and shone their lights on the robbers but they sneaked behind the motorists and opened fire. The motoists fled and left their vehicles, two Toyota Granvias, two Nissan Caravans and an lsuzu Como kombi.

The armed robbers then ransacked the vehicles, stealing cash, groceries and other property yet to be established. They then fled from the scene.

ZRP appealed to members of the public with information that might lead to the arrest of the notorious robbers to come forward and said:

The Zimbabwe Republic Police has launched a manhunt for 10 unknown armed robbers who attacked 8 motorists on 27 October 2020 along Beitbddge — Dite Road around 2200 hours.
