Zimondi Hands Over Reigns At ZPCS

By A Correspondent- Retired Major General Paradzai Zimondi has officially handed over the reins at the Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services (ZPCS), to incoming Commissioner-General Moses Chihobvu.

Zimhondi was forced to go on three months of pre-retirement leave after 22 years at the helm of the country’s prisons.

His successor becomes the substantive head of the service with effect from November 1 (tomorrow). Speaking at the handover-takeover ceremony conducted at the depots’ parade square in Ntabazinduna, Zimhondi said:

Growth and change are inevitable. When the time has come one must go. I have selflessly served my nation. The time has come for me to retire into civilian life.

Incoming Commissioner-General Moses Chihobvu pledged to build on his predecessor’s achievements to promote the country’s Vision 2030.

He also thanked President Emmerson Mnangagwa for showing “confidence” in him by appointing him to the post.

The Minister of Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs, said the changeover of command ceremony was a befitting one to Zimhondi’s who did his “job well” as ZPCS commander.-statemedia
