Farai Dziva|MDC Alliance has stepped up efforts to empower and equip rural women with essential skills for survival.

Speaking in Zvimba, Mashonaland West Province on Saturday, MDC Alliance Women’s Assembly chairlady, Hon Muchirairwa Mugidho bemoaned the persecution of rural women by Zanu PF. Hon Mugidho made the remarks an event held to celebrate International Rural Women’s Day.

In a statement released yesterday, MDC Alliance Mashonaland West said the International Rural Women’s commemoration event was successful:

Wow! The women have done it again.Yes the #International
RuralWomens Day was held today in Zvimba West.

Zanu and it’s hell’s angels tried painstakingly to scuttle the event but the people stood up and defended the movement.

The MDC Alliance National Organising Sec Hon Chibaya,Women Assembly Chair Mama Mgidho and other National members graced the event.PC Magunje attended together with the members of his PAC.

Hundreds of women attended.They danced and sang.Modelling was part of the days proceedings and made the day colourful.

There was also food competitions among other competitions.

The women enjoyed themselves as they sang ,danced and ate their hearts out.

Indeed it was a beautiful day for the beautiful people who are the bedrock of our Struggle.
